ReconDesk is a GSTR-2B reconciliation system for small and mid-size CA firms and finance teams in India. Upload a client’s GSTR-2B and purchase register; invoices are matched automatically, with invoice numbers normalised, and mismatches are sorted into clear categories: not in 2B, not in books, value differs, period differs, supplier filing status. The IMS action for each invoice (accept, pending, reject) is prepared for you to act on. You review only the unclear ones, it remembers your decisions next month, and it produces a client-ready report and a vendor follow-up list. Built and set up by VV Automate in Kolkata. It sorts the facts; the decisions stay with the CA.

ReconDeskBuilt for youIndia

Forty clients. Two VLOOKUPs. “INV-1” in the register, “INV/001” in 2B. Three hundred false mismatches. Automatic matching, clear categories, and only the unclear cases left for you.

ReconDesk matches the purchase register to GSTR-2B the way a careful junior would, with the invoice numbers cleaned, a rupee of tolerance, and QRMP timing understood. What is left is a short list of real questions, the IMS action per invoice ready for you to confirm, a client-ready report, and the vendors to chase.

Illustrative One client, one month, matched.

A reconciliation summary: 408 invoices in the register, 398 matched, 4 not in 2B, 2 from a QRMP supplier due next quarter, 4 not in books, 3 value differences, 1 supplier not filed, with amounts.

Is this you?

  • The September 2B drops. Forty clients. The note says “ask vendors to file by the 11th so it lands in next month’s 2B”. Your junior starts forty phone lists.
  • The register says INV/001, 2B says INV-1. Three hundred rows of false mismatches before anyone starts the real work.
  • A client asks why ₹1.8 lakh of credit is being reversed when he paid the supplier in full.
  • A QRMP supplier’s October invoice turns up in the December 2B, generated in January. The credit was marked missing in October and the vendor chased for nothing.

How it works

  1. 1

Upload the 2B and the purchase register

The GSTR-2B JSON or Excel from the portal, and the register from Tally, Busy, Zoho or Excel, in whatever format the client sends.

Illustrative Two files in, per client, per month.

An upload screen listing GSTR-2B September 2026 and the purchase register exported from Tally, both received.

  2. 2

    Automatic matching with clear categories

Invoice numbers are normalised (INV-1 and INV/001 are the same), small rounding is tolerated, and every mismatch gets one category: not in 2B, not in books, value differs, period differs (QRMP suppliers understood), supplier filing status (checked on the portal for each GSTIN).

Illustrative Every mismatch in one of five categories.

A table of mismatched invoices with supplier, invoice, amount in books, amount in 2B and category.

  3. 3

You review only the unclear ones

Each case with both sides shown and a one-tap decision: accept, keep pending in IMS, write to the vendor, or reverse credit already taken. It remembers your decision for the same supplier next month.

    Illustrative One case, one decision.

A case card: Ganguly Packaging GP/1187, books 15,391, 2B 15,481, difference 90 rupees; decision recorded as claim at the lower of invoice and 2B, client to check the bill, remembered for this supplier.

  4. 4

The IMS action per invoice, prepared

For each invoice in the Invoice Management System: accept, keep pending, or reject, with the reason from the matching. You confirm and act on the portal or through your GSP, and recompute the 2B before the 3B.

Illustrative IMS actions, ready to confirm.

A table of invoices with the prepared IMS action: accept for matched ones, pending for the value difference, accept with a watch for the supplier whose 3B is not filed, reject for a note that does not belong to the client.

  5. 5

    A client-ready report and a vendor follow-up list

A one-page summary the partner can send the client, and a list of vendors to chase with what each one owes in ITC. The report sorts the facts; the advice stays with the CA.

    Illustrative The vendors to chase.

A list of vendors whose invoices are missing from 2B or who have not filed, with the ITC at stake and a drafted message to each.

Questions

TallyPrime already has 2B reconciliation.

For one company at a time, in Tally’s format. ReconDesk works across every client you have, whatever their software, with the categories, the IMS actions and the memory a firm needs, and produces the client report and the vendor list.

Clients send registers in every format.

That is the normal case. Columns are mapped once per client and remembered.

Is this compliance advice?

No. ReconDesk shows the facts and sorts them; the decisions, and the advice to the client, stay with the CA. The rules it applies (section 16(2)(aa), Rule 37A dates, IMS deemed acceptance, section 170 rounding) are listed in writing with the date they were last reviewed.

Per-client pricing kills us at eighty clients.

The quote is for the firm, not per client. Tell us the client count on the call.

Where is client data stored?

In your own storage, under your control. Nothing is used for anything except your reconciliation. Deleted on request.

What does it cost?

Fixed quote after a free 30-minute call. No surprises. After the free call you get the price in writing on WhatsApp: setup, monthly, how long. You say yes or no.
